Hail Master Mesh Screen
This semi-rigid mesh hail screen is highly durable and will provide protection from hail and other airborne objects. When used with the track mount kit and cottonwood filter screen – you will provide your equipment with optimal protection giving you “peace of mind” that your equipment is protected and performing to specification.
Cottonwood Filter Screen Options
Cottonwood Filter Screens will enhance the protection of your condenser coils by filtering out small, day to day airborne debris such as cottonwood seed, insects, pollen, dust, leaves and more. Three cut mesh sizes (without an outer binding) is available in HD Commercial Grade Mesh. For Commercial and Industrial applications, Custom Filters are available with a strong outer binding, factory installed grommets and your choice of quick release twist lock fasteners or, quick release spin-knob fasteners.
If your condenser coils are a “V” style configuration, then using Cottonwood Filter Screens alone can also provide hail protection on its own so long as there are several inches of distance between the back of the filter screen and the face of the coil when screens are mounted to the frame of the unit.

TRACK CONNECTORS
Use of corner connectors enable track to be assembled into a rigid frame that can attach directly to the surround of a condenser coil opening. The track creates an additional .75″ stand-off away from the outer surface of the unit – thus helping to enhance coil protection. For internal filter applications, the rigid frame can accommodate different filter grades and be slid into an internal filter rack as a pre-filter which will protect pleated and box style filters as a Pre-filter.

“T” Connectors are used to connect lengths of track end to end or to create middle supports across the width of an intake opening thus providing lateral support under the flow of air. When using the Cut Mesh Filter Screens (available as an add-on to the three Hail Master Kits) you can field insert grommets down the center support to provide even greater strength and stability.

If covering multiple openings be sure to select a kit size which will enable parsing of the mesh while still allowing movement up and or down for proper positioning on the mounting flange. Optional Hail Master Track Mount Kit
Depending upon the number of openings you intend to cover with a single Hail Master Kit, you will need different quantities of track, Track Connectors and Fasteners to meet your project need. Track is available in two different materials (Aluminum and PVC) and lengths. Anodized Aluminum Track comes in 48″ lengths (4ft. ea.) and PVC Track comes in 54″ Lengths. Connectors are produced using a durable, high strength polymer that enables you to connect the track together end to end or, form a square or rectangular frame that will mount to the surround of the coil or intake opening or can be used as a rigid framed filter that will slide into an air handling units filter rack. The following chart shows you just how many track and connectors you will need based on parsing each kit in up to 4 equal openings for each kit. When requesting a quote, Be sure to indicate the ID and OD dimensions of each opening you intend to cover with an individual kit – Refer to the specification template page on this website to select a specification template that will show you how and what to measure on your equipment to ensure a perfect fit. NOTE: Actual Track Quantity can differ from what is shown below if you are covering very small or very large coil or intake openings.
Determining Track and Connector Requirements for Your Application The Following table show how many track and connectors are require for up to 4 openings by dividing each Hail Master Kit into up to 4 equal size pieces and using full lengths of track (48″ lengths for aluminum and 54″ lengths for PVC) which connect end to end and / or is cut to the required lengths as needed. (Example: Hail Master Kit – A with Aluminum Track = 150″ x 48″ and when divided into two equal pieces at 75″ W x 48″ H will cover two openings 69″ x 50″ while providing enough overlap on each side for attaching around the perimeter of the opening. NOTE: Hail Master Mesh sizes in the chart below will reflect the need for different numbers of track and connectors between the Aluminum and PVC Track – this is due to the difference in the lengths of the Aluminum vs. PVC. Obviously, the following chart doesn’t reflect all potential opening sizes, so the actual number of track and connectors required for your project may be different than shown below.
